For my rough draft, I did four simple steps to showcase how to properly pass the first ball in volleyball and my target audience is six to ten year olds. First, I uploaded several cartoonish images to appeal to my audience and capture their attention, while trying to actually teach them the proper technique as well. I tried to make the overall theme or outcome winning or coming in first place as kids love to win and are usually highly competitive. I then created four text boxes and put each step using kiddish text and putting it in bold. I then used a different stoke and fill color to emphasize the letters and get the kids attention. I then created a different border for each picture. For example, for the first picture, I used the star tool and then used the blend tool to create a cool exterior that would grab a kid's attention. For the second picture, I took the brush tool and picked an interesting pattern to make it look funky and highlight the eyes. Next, for the third picture, I took the ellipse tool and then used the eraser tool to create holes in the middle of them. Finally, for the last picture, I used the brush tool to create cool designs and used the fill too to fill them with interesting colors all in an attempt to keep my audience's short attention span engaged. On the right side of the picture, I put the words WINNER in bold to emphasize the ultimate outcome you will receive if you follow these four steps when passing. Using the extrinsic value of winning for children is often a great motivator and why I did so. Overall, this is my rough draft for my Illustration Project.
